Frequently asked Questions?
*What
can I expect in my first visit?
Evaluation and treatment occur with your very first visit.
An in depth history as well as a structural evaluation will be
performed. Experience has proven that a thorough history
taking combined with our evaluation tools, serves to expedite
your course of treatment.
*What
should I wear?
Comfortable
clothing. Generally, treatment is rendered directly through your
clothing. Should we need to do soft or deep tissue work, cloth
gowns and shorts are available.
*Will
my child be at ease?
Our
children love coming for care. Children choose from a wide
array of videos to watch during their care. Because our
work is extremely light and gentle, children are rarely aware
that they are even being treated. Our children range in
age from newborns to high school.
*How
long is my appointment?
Typically,
our appointments are approximately one hour in length. Documentation
of your progress or complaints is obtained before the session
begins with recording of the treatment rendered, requires a few
minutes at the end. During your session you will receive
direct, gentle, hands-on care.
*Will
insurance cover these services?
Because we are licensed
physical therapists, insurance companies recognize services and
treatments rendered by us. Customarily, we recommend to
patients to acquire a phyisicians script for a 'Physical Therapy
Evaluation and Treatment' as additional evidence to insurance
companies that the services provided are recoginized by the doctor
as necessary to your care and well being.
Sometimes,
Polaroid/digital pictures or videotapes of you or your child may
be taken to serve as valuable and dramatic visual tools to demonstrate
before and after results to the insurance company to further support
"medical necessity" issues that are sometimes raised
by insurance companies.
